At Coca-Cola Andina, we are committed to caring for the planet

Climate Action

We undertake various actions to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and manage our carbon footprint throughout the value chain, actively working to decrease energy consumption and increase the share of renewable energy sources in all our operations.

Recently, we signed a commitment to adhere to Science-Based Targets (SBT), aiming to validate our decarbonization goals and align them with climate science for scopes 1, 2, and 3.

Our 2030 Commitments:

  • Reduce the energy use ratio per liter produced by 23% compared to 2018.
  • Incorporate renewable electricity into our operations.
  • Decarbonize operational activities and our value chain.

Circular Perspective

We are committed to managing waste generated in our operations and value chain, reducing packaging impact on the environment through returnability, collection, recycling, and reduction strategies.

Returnability is the core of our packaging strategy, materialized through strengthening the product mix in returnable packaging and its availability in the market. We are part of the global Coca-Cola system initiative “A World Without Waste,” which aims to set ambitious strategic goals to minimize and offset environmental impacts through partnerships and value chain development that promote material circularity.

Our 2025 / 2030 Commitments:

  • Ensure that 100% of our packaging is recyclable by 2025.
  • Collect 70% to 75% of bottles and cans placed in the market by 2030.
  • Incorporate 35% to 40% recycled material in packaging by 2030.
  • Achieve 42.8% of our volume in returnable packaging by 2030.

Water Awareness

We continuously seek to reduce water consumption and protect water sources for future generations through cutting-edge technology, innovation, and plans to improve efficiency in four strategic areas: reduce, reuse, recycle, and replenish.

Our commitment to safeguarding this vital resource for the planet and community development extends beyond our direct operations, encompassing all stakeholders within our value chain.

Our 2030 Commitments:

  • Reduce water usage per liter of beverage by 36% compared to 2018, prioritizing plants in water-risk areas.
  • Return 100% of the total water used in high-risk areas defined within the Coca-Cola system back to nature.
  • Collaborate in water conservation, awareness, and management efforts in the communities where we operate.
